What does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world?
What does it profit a man, if he loses his soul?
Lord if I love this world more than You, then my life is in vain
For one day this life will be through, tell me what will remain?

You will remain even in dying
You are forever Lord
You are my life
Lord I count all things loss then I may know You
You are worth dying for
You are my life
O Lord, only You!

With the riches of heaven in view
When the light of Your glory shines through
The things of this world fade away
And Your fire consumes

One day wood hay and stubble will burn
But by then it is too late to turn
Father burn up my heart until all that remain is just You

Purify me in Your holy fire til I'm flaming with holy desire
Draw me to You until all that is left is pure gold
All the things that I'm holding so dear
seems so worthless compare with Your near
You are the wealth I desire
I'm longing to hold



You have designed life in such a way that
we cannot profit on both sides --

If I decide to gain in eternity,
I will loss many in this world
to such an extend ...

if heaven was not real, if there was no eternity,
my whole life will be completely wasted and I have lived as a fool.

But then ...

I know so well that You are real
and You are that pearl of great price,
more precious than anything I know in this life ...

so I go and sell all that I have, and buy it.
